SUMMER OF SERVICE
We recognize the value that short-term mission trips can have on the Great Commission and the local church. For this reason, we initiated Summer of Service (SOS). SOS is a week-long, intensive program during which participants get the opportunity to serve via various campus work projects, learn more about Christ’s last mandate, and get a taste of living the way our students do during their year with us.
It is our desire to accomplish three things:
- Give churches and groups access to sound missiological teaching
- Provide a short-term opportunity that is beneficial to The Great Commission
- Assist RADIUS in completing ongoing projects and preparations for incoming students
Who is Summer of Service for?
Local Churches
Are you looking for an experience to expose your congregation to sound missiology and provide them with a short-term opportunity to participate in the Great Commission? SOS combines both objectives in a relatively short period of time that will not conflict with your existing ministries.
College Mobilization Ministries
Do you work with college students? Are you looking for a way to expose them to God’s heart for the Nations? SOS is a great opportunity to not only serve but also learn about what God is doing and wants to do throughout the world.
What does Summer of Service accomplish?
SOS participants spend a jam-packed week of learning and serving! Time is split between doing much-needed projects and repairs at one or both of our campuses in Mexico and classroom sessions with various speakers teaching about God’s heart for the Nations and what is necessary to see the Great Commission accomplished. There will be plenty of time to debrief and reflect on all that you are learning, as well as time to get out and experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of the local culture.
When does Summer of Service happen?
June 15-20, 2025 & July 27-Aug 1, 2025
Participants can plan to arrive early afternoon on Sunday and depart before noon on Friday.
Where does Summer of Service take place?
All activities take place in a border town of Mexico. If you are not within driving distance, your group will want to fly into San Diego International Airport, and we will make arrangements to get you over the border and into Mexico. We facilitate visitors all of the time and it really is an easy process.
How much does it cost?
The cost to attend SOS is $125/person. This fee covers all food, lodging, local travel and incidental expenses associated with the work done during the program.
